  • Riding the Big Blue Bus!!

Posted by Tom Iannucci at 2/29/2016

This week I have the pleasure of riding the new Big Blue Bus which delivers students to Paul Revere Charter Middle School. Our new bus is a special version of route #14 which starts in Fox Hills and runs up Cantilena/Bundy delivering its passengers onto the Paul Revere campus. I picked the bus up on the corner of Olympic and Bundy at 7:00am and arrived on campus at 7:25. I enjoyed the stress free ride, not having to fight traffic, reading the morning news on my iphone.

Our students on the #14 listened to music, played games on their phones or just sat quietly. This service is part of Revere’s larger mission to reduce traffic and improve student safety in our surrounding neighborhood. By taking cars off the road and promoting alternative types of commuting Revere hopes to change the culture of our commuting families. Allow your children to experience independence by riding the bus to school, teach them that the future of our city is better served if we all get out of our cars and use the variety of public transportation available.

So from here on out (February 26, 2016) I will be making every Friday (weather permitting) Big Blue Bus Friday, come join me on the #14 as I commute to work, taking one more car off of Allenford and reducing my carbon foot print on this planet. See you on the Big Blue Bus!!

  • Our Community

Posted by Lori Vogel at 1/26/2016

I recently had the opportunity to meet with members of the local community who live across from Revere in the old “Polo Fields” which include the streets of Pontoon and Brinkley. It was a very gratifying opportunity for me to interact with members of the Paul Revere community. It was a chance for them to express to me some of the challenges they face living across the street from a middle school of 2100 students.

There were many issues raised by the community members, the most pressing of which was the continued disregard by some of our parents and family members for student safety, private property, and the traffic rules. Again and again members of the “Polo Field” community told me of cars that block their driveway on a daily basis, cars that double park on the outlying streets causing traffic congestion and the rude and sometime intimidating behavior of some Revere parents.

I have made it one of my missions as principal at Revere to improve communication and relations with our neighbors. After all we are a member of this community and must respect and support it. I have offered Revere as a meeting spot for the local community council, I have shared with our neighbors changes Revere will be making in the future to reduce traffic and enforce proper behavior from our students and families. I know you agree with me when I say that Revere families and students must be good members of the local community and respect all private property and follow all traffic laws.

    Thank you,

  • End of Fall Semester

Posted by Tom Iannucci at 12/15/2015

    Dear Revere Families and Friends

As we all head towards our long winters nap, I would like to share with you my wish that this holiday season finds you with those you love.

The winter break marks the end of the fall semester. You can expect your child’s final semester marks over the Winter Break.

Please remember that this is an opportunity not only for our teachers to rest and recharge but also your children as well. Please make sure that their holiday is full of opportunities to get them off the couch and out of the house to experience what life has to offer. Please take this as a chance to spent some time together. Going to movies, museums, the park are all good ways to reconnect away from the demands of work and school. Enjoy your children and family, enjoy life.

Thank you for a great start.

Good-Day Paul Revere Families and Staff:

I would like to thank all our families and staff who attended Saturday nights annual Paul Revere Auction and Fundraiser. Events like this remind me why I love working at this school, and why our students and staff are so well cared for and supported. More than the money raised, which Revere is very grateful for, the event creates a sense of community, and it makes our large campus seem that much smaller.

I would like to personally thank Nancy Silver and Keri Kraft, Chairs of the Silent Auction, Marti Ornest and Amy Goldreyer, Auction Party Chairs, Cindy Sison who produced the video for the farm, Matthew Rodman, Raise the Paddle and Mary Wlodek, Pride President. To each and every one of you a most heartfelt thank you and a job well done, Revere is that much better because of your presence on our campus.

  • Thanksgiving Message

Posted by Tom Iannucci at 11/20/2015

As we take a week to recharge our batteries during this Thanksgiving break, I would like to share with all our families and staff what I am thankful for one month into being Principal at Paul Revere.

I am thankful for a talented, hardworking, tremendous group of professionals who support your children every day. I am thankful for those parents who on a daily basis volunteer their energies to make sure Paul Revere maintains the type of programs which separate us from the other middle schools on the West Side. I am thankful that our students are loved and supported by such great families and staff, allowing them to learn and grow over the three years they attend Revere. Finally, I am thankful that the parents, faculty and staff allow me to work at such a wonderful school, Happy Thanksgiving one and all.

  • Introduction of our new Principal Tom Iannucci

Posted by Lori Vogel at 9/30/2015

    Dear Revere Families,

I would take this opportunity to introduce myself to everyone who may not have already had the chance to meet me. I have been with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 27 years as a teacher, counselor and administrator. For the last seven years, I have been the Assistant Principal overseeing Special Education at Paul Revere. In that time, I have become acquainted with the students and the families of Revere as well as the local community. I believe that Revere is a spectacular school, with an exceptional faculty and staff. Everyday that your children walk onto this campus, they are met by professionals who value them and their futures. I am excited about the opportunity to work with such a dedicated group of individuals. I am looking forward to working with all of you. I am always here for your children; please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

    Thank you,

    Tom Iannucci

Principal, Paul Revere Charter Middle School
